As we turn the corner from summer into fall, it is time for another Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM). HHM runs each year from September 15-October 15, but why? My husband’s answer: because Hispanics are always late, but then they don’t know how to leave. The real answer: to incorporate the Independence Day anniversaries of several Hispanic countries.
This year for HHM, the Disney Parks, Resorts, and Disney Springs are coming alive for the celebration “Together We are Magia” that offers an array of incredible experiences to honor the rich cultures and vibrant traditions of Hispanic countries.

Food that Tells a Story
One of the most exciting ways to experience this celebration is through your taste buds. Disney’s culinary teams have crafted an incredible array of specialty foods and beverages inspired by Hispanic cuisine. At EPCOT, you can find a variety of sips and snacks at the Global Marketplace during the Food and Wine Festival. Some of the offerings include: Peruvian Ceviche, Birria Tacos and of course, churros. At Hollywood Studios, you can savor Shrimp Tacos and a Watermelon Margarita at ABC Commissary, while Magic Kingdom’s Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen offers the Dr. Falls Signature Grilled Steak Loom. Don’t forget to stop by Disney Springs for some Horchata Mousse at Amorette’s Patisserie or Dulce de Leche Canache at the Ganachery.

Entertainment that Moves You
The rhythm and energy of Hispanic music are on full display at the parks! At EPCOT’s CommuniCore Plaza, you can join the fun with a special sing-along show, Celebracion Encanto!, featuring appearances by members of the familia Madrigal. The Mexico Pavilion continues to enchant guests with the traditional folk music of Mariachi Cobre. Meanwhile, over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Viva Gaia Street Band! brings Caribbean rhythms to Discovery Island. You can also catch special musical performances as part of the Eat to the Beat Concert Series at EPCOT.

Magical Memories
Capture your favorite moments with special PhotoPass offerings. Throughout the parks you’ll find exclusive Magic Shots, featuring exclusive characters from Encanto and Coco. Strike a pose with Luisa or take a fun photo with Miguel. Keep an eye out for photo frames at the park entrances as well. There’s also a wide variety of unique souvenirs, such as custom sugar skulls at The Art Corner or beautiful paintings and limited-edition prints available for purchase at the Art of Disney, featuring Hispanic artists.

Whether you are looking for flavorful food, high-energy entertainment, or unique art, Disney’s celebration of HHM offers something for everyone. It’s a truly magical time to experience the rich and diverse cultures that make up the “familia Disney”.
Can’t make it during HHM? No need to fret. Disney celebrates Hispanic culture all year long! Stay tuned for more on how to celebrate any time of year.
